Principal Holly Kleppe

I feel extremely privileged to be the principal at Jefferson Community School.  This is my second year at Jefferson and I am proud to be a part of such a diverse community filled with such dedicated professionals.

At Jefferson we are striving to build a community built upon caring relationships, involved families and a love of learning.  I believe in setting high expectations for staff and students and giving students the supports they need to reach their goals.

I joined the Minneapolis Public Schools in 2009 as a math specialist at Anne Sullivan and then served as the Assistant Principal at Barton Open School here in Minneapolis.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education along with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a K-12 Administrative License. Prior to my roles with the Minneapolis Public Schools, I had the opportunity to be a classroom teacher for fifteen years with the Anoka Hennepin school district.  My time in the classroom remains foundational to my understanding of how to support students both academically and socially.

I am proud mother of twin boys, Jack and Jared.  The boys keep me busy with sports.  I am their biggest cheerleader! I also a big Minnesota Lynx supporter and am an avid reader.
