Hello, I am Jennifer Hanzak, Math Specialist at Jefferson Community School. I love math and strive to bring that love of math to the students I work with! I work with students primarily in grades 1,2,3 and 4. Started teaching in Minneapolis in 1989, almost 30 years ago. I helped start the Pillsbury School in NE Minneapolis in 1991. After teaching in multiaged classrooms of 3/4 and 5/6 I moved on to a new adventure to start up yet anther school. In 2000 I went to the FAIR school in Crystal. That school was a part of a voluntary desegregation school in the West Metro Education Program. I taught 6th grade there for 14 years. 4 of them as just the 6th grade math teacher. In 2014 I came back to my Minneapolis roots as a math specialist. I have learned so much about how children learn about math over the last 5 years. I bring my knowledge to Jefferson School.

My husband is still at FAIR as an educational assistant.. I have a 19 year old daughter who attends the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire studying Criminal Justice and Social Work. She is also a competitive swimmer on their  team. I have a rescue dog by the name of Paris who likes to snuggle and give kisses.

I enjoy cooking, reading and working on in my spare time. )When I can find it)
